Thebottom line for me, is that my 27.5-inch bike is the most "fun" one I have in my quiver with the best feel for the trail, which makes it the best enduro race bike for me. Becauseof the larger wheel, the Enduro 29 naturally has a taller stack height, but its new incarnation got a few millimeters added to its bottom bracket height and a few more sliced off its head tube. Conversely, this year's Enduro 27.5 still offers 10 millimeters more travel than its bigger-wheeled sibling, plus it got a slightly taller head JamisDefcon 3. Jamis enters the enduro market with an all-new 27.5-inch-wheeled platform dubbed Defcon. These bikes have 160mm of travel and a simple four-bar suspension design Jamis calls MP4
Ifyou are more comfortable and faster on a 27.5, then that’s the bike for you. But yes 29ers roll faster generally, but that doesn’t mean everyone is faster on them. People will always say “29 faster, 27.5 more fun/agile” but honestly the difference is pretty marginal. Bike geometry matters so much more.

richie_rude1 took the Enduro wheel EX 1700 SPLINE to the top step of the podium at this year’s second Big Mountain Enduro, this time in Big Sky, Montana. A total of 25 minutes of racing over 8 stages with a difference of only 4 seconds between 1st and 2nd place, proves that at this level, there is no room for chance and that consistency is key.
