The BMW M 1000 XR shares its oil/water-cooled, inline-four engine with the new 2024 S 1000 XR - the same engine that powers other liter-class offerings from BMW like the S 1000 RR and S 1000 R. In the M 1000 XR, BMW has given the M treatment to this engine, which makes around 31 hp more than the S 1000 XR.
