In terms of weight, the Nikon Z 24-70mm f/4 S weighs 500 grams (1.1 pounds), while the Nikon Z 24-120mm f/4 S weighs 630 grams (1.4 pounds) – yes, the 24-70mm f/4 S wins, but it’s not a dramatic difference. The 24-70mm f/4 S is a bit more portable, but the size difference is only about 2 cm (3/4 inch).

The 28-75 and 70-180 are a well known budget combo for the z mount and are pretty damp good, you get most of the image quality of the top z glass but at a lower cost. I do prefer the 24-120 and 70-200 z personally but I shoot a lot and also use both for video work and they are a bit better as a dual purpose set of gear.
I had the 24-120, ended up selling it and getting the 24-70 f/2.8 (not the VR). I actually miss the 24-120 to some extent, I thought the IQ was just fine. I shoot shows, low light, so I need the f/2.8 and the faster AF. The AF is the biggest difference I noticed. But, for walkaround, I would take the 24-120 if I still had it.
